چکیده

Purpose: To determine the effect of sevoflurane (SE) on neuronal apoptosis, and mechanism involved. Methods: Sixty healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to control, model SE groups. Sham surgery was performed in control group, while middle cerebral artery infarction (MCAO) established group. The expression HO-1 mRNA determined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Apoptosis, autophagy protein content P13K/Akt/P70S6K signaling pathway assessed Western blot assay. Results: Apoptosis significantly lower rats, relative rats. There markedly higher levels LC3 II / I, beclin-1, bad, Bcl-2 caspase-3 groups than (p < 0.05). up-regulated groups, controls, but it phosphorylated proteins P13K/Akt /P70S6K signal-related up-regulated, elevated mice, when compared mice 0.05).Conclusion: improves behavior MCAO reduces infarction, inhibits apoptosis nerve cells regulating apoptosis-related through a that may be related induction HO-1-mRNA signal pathway. This provides new insights for development anti-neuronal drugs.

Sevoflurane attenuates pulmonary inflammation and ventilator-induced lung injury by upregulation of HO-1 mRNA expression in mice

BACKGROUND Mechanical ventilation has been documented to paradoxically cause lung injury. As a commonly used volatile anesthetic, sevoflurane has been proven to possess antiinflammatory and antioxidative properties. This study aims to investigate the protective effects of sevoflurane on inflammation and ventilator-induced lung injury during mechanical ventilation in healthy mice. METHODS The ...

Interferon-γ affects leukemia cell apoptosis through regulating Fas/FasL signaling pathway.

OBJECTIVE Imbalance of hematopoietic cell proliferation and apoptosis is one of the major causes of leukemia. Enhanced cell proliferation and reduced apoptosis lead to hemocytes accumulation. Fas/FasL signaling pathway promotes cell apoptosis. This study investigated the impact of interferon γ (IFN-γ) on chronic myelogenous leukemia cell proliferation and apoptosis to elucidate its interaction ...

Sevoflurane post-conditioning attenuates traumatic brain injury-induced neuronal apoptosis by promoting autophagy via the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway

Background Sevoflurane post-conditioning exerts nerve-protective effects through inhibiting caspase-dependent neuronal apoptosis after a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Autophagy that is induced by the endoplasmic reticulum stress plays an important role in the secondary neurological dysfunction after a TBI. However, the relationship between autophagy and caspase-dependent apoptosis as well as th...

Dimethyl itaconate protects against lipopolysaccharide-induced endometritis by inhibition of TLR4/NF-κB and activation of Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway in mice

Objective(s): Endometritis is the inflammation of the uterine lining that is associated with infertility. It affects milk production and reproductive performance and leads to huge economic losses in dairy cows. Dimethyl itaconate (DI), a promising chemical agent, has recently been proved to have multiple health-promoting effects. However, the effects of DI on endometri...

CO/HO-1 Induces NQO-1 Expression via Nrf2 Activation

BACKGROUND Carbon monoxide (CO) is a cytoprotective and homeostatic molecule with important signaling capabilities in physiological and pathophysiological situations. CO protects cells/tissues from damage by free radicals or oxidative stress. NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase (NQO1) is a highly inducible enzyme that is regulated by the Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1)/nuclear factor ery...
